Dr Dave Weed Retires

As of July 1, 2017, Dr. David Weed will be retiring from his position as Executive Director of Partners for a Healthier Community and Coordinator of the Healthy City Fall River Initiative.

FALL RIVER — For the last decade, Dr. David S. Weed has been trying to make Fall River a healthier place.

He’s succeeded in his mission and is passing the torch to the many human service organizations to continue that work.

Weed will retire from his post as executive director of Greater Fall River Partners for a Healthier Community, knowing that the city is a little thinner, a little greener and has made a lot of progress in banding together to reduce its ills.

“I’ve been privileged to work with people who’ve helped other people,” said a humble Weed. “Nothing happens by yourself. You have to work with other people.”

Weed started Healthy City Fall River in 2003 with “no idea where it was going to go.” With a camera in his hand and a website, Weed began documenting events that were healthy for the body, mind and soul.
